You’re invited to NAS Key West’s Restoration Advisory Board Annual Meeting July 18, 2017

Dear Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) Member or Interested Party:

The Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) of Naval Air Station (NAS) Key West invites you to attend our next annual meeting on July 18, 2017 at 6 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center meeting room, 35 East Quay Road, Key West.  Free parking is available at the Eco-Discovery Center for attendees’ convenience.

Pursuant to the RAB Charter (dated December 15, 1995), “The RAB mission is to establish a forum with the community, regulators, and NAS Key West for the input and exchange of information in an open and interactive dialogue concerning the installation’s environmental program.”  The RAB is comprised of members from the Navy, Florida Department of Environmental Protection and community.  Being mindful of community concerns, the RAB has fully implemented and developed Final Decision Documents as mandated under Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and Comprehensive Environmental Restoration Compensation Liability Act (CERCLA) to address these community involvement programs.

During this year’s RAB meeting, we will discuss current restoration sites anticipated to achieve closure in fiscal year 2018, as well as, discussions on upcoming projects related to our munitions response program.  Documents on the NAS Key West environmental program are available for public review at http://go.usa.gov/KSDJ by selecting the Administrative Records link under Naval Air Station Key West. Individuals without a computer or internet access can use any of five Monroe County Library locations for free internet access and computer resources.

Copies of the proposed RAB Meeting Agenda and the draft minutes from last year’s meeting are enclosed for your convenience.  As the aforementioned topics will be primary agenda items at our July 18, 2017 meeting, your attendance and comments are requested.
