Bid on Fine Art to Support Keys Artists at Feb. 10 Anne McKee Artists Fund Auction
Attendees can bid on the works of over 50 Florida Keys artists, ranging from renowned masters to emerging talents, at the Anne McKee Artists Fund fine art auction on Friday, Feb. 10th.
The annual auction raises money for project-based grants to Monroe County visual, literary and performing artists. This year the auction will be held at The Studios of Key West at 533 Eaton Street. The doors will open at 7pm and the auction will begin at 8pm under the guidance of auctioneer Tom Luna. Attendees can bid on original paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber art, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry and more.
“This annual auction is unique because it is supported by artists with the sole purpose of benefiting other artists,” said board member Roberta DePiero. “This results in a magical blend of work by premier and emerging artists combined into an exquisite, unusual auction.”
Each participating artist receives 50 percent of the proceeds from the sale of his or her work, while the McKee Fund receives the remainder to award to Keys artists for select projects. Founded by longtime Key West resident Anne McKee, the not-for-profit fund has awarded more than $245,000 since 1994.
Tickets are $25 which includes desserts, champagne and a cash bar. There are also a limited number of VIP table seats available for $35 per person. Tickets can be purchased at www.mckeefund.org and at the door the night of the event.
