34TH ANNUAL REEF RELIEF MEETING

(Key West, FL) – Wednesday December 1, 2021 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Reef Relief will host their 34th Annual Meeting on Wednesday December 1 from 5:30-7:30pm. Special guest speakers will present on the Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease in the Florida Keys, Goliath Grouper conservation, and Reef Relief’s Annual Report. The meeting will take place on Zoom and will be open to the public. 

Speakers for the meeting include: Dr. Karen Neely and Walt Stearns. 

Dr. Neely is a research scientist at Nova Southeastern University who is currently researching the impacts of and responses to stony coral tissue loss disease. She conducted initial laboratory treatment trials, pioneered field intervention efforts in the Florida Keys, and with her team has treated nearly 10,000 diseased corals in Florida. 

Walt Stearns is a highly credible photojournalist whose work spans over 35 years. He is featured in varied number of publications worldwide in the field of boating, sport fishing, sport diving and marine natural history. Walt’s photographic work are perhaps most recognized in feature articles he has published in magazines like Discover Diving, Ocean Realm, Scuba Diving, Sport Diver (as contributing photographer), Skin Diver magazine (contributing editor for 6 years), to his current position as Scuba Diver’s US publication Destinations.
