FKCC’s Keys Chorale Performs “Choral Blockbusters” In Spring Concert

KEY WEST, FL, April 5, 2016—Florida Keys Community College invites the community to the FKCC Keys Chorale spring concert on Friday, April 15 at 8 p.m. in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Entitled “Choral Blockbusters,” the concert will showcase the talented voices of and festive performances by the students in the College’s “Mixed Community Chorus” class.

Under the direction of Professor James Cutty, the concert will nod to the past and toast to today. The Keys Chorale will perform choral classics as well as contemporary selections from the musicals “Hairspray,” “Easter Parade,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”  The concert will also feature a performance by the male acapella group, The Southernmost Five.

General admission is $20, FKCC students are free, and admission for all other students is $5. Tickets can be purchased at www.keystix.com or at the door.

Those interested in joining the Chorale can register for the “Mixed Community Chorus” course in the fall semester.  “Mixed Community Chorus,” which can be taken as a college credit or non-credit course, brings students together as a community of singers to practice a selection of works from the vast, historical repertory of choral literature from all periods.  For more information about registering for the credit or non-credit course, call 305-296-9081 or visit www.fkcc.edu.
