Artist Of Distinction Presentation By Adam Russell Following Key West Art Center’s January 2016 Membership Meeting

Key West Art Center will be hosting its first monthly Membership Meeting of 2016 on Friday, January 8th at 3:30 pm the.  Directly following the meeting the public is invited to attend a customary presentation to the membership by an artist of distinction. This month’s presentation will be given by local artist Adam Russell.

Adam, and his wife Kelly Lever, moved to the island from Ohio in January 2010, a few months after completing an artist’s residency at The Studios of Key West. Since then they have established themselves in our community, both as artists and business owners. Specializing in the making and curating of functional pottery and ceramic fine art, Key West Pottery was first established on Truman Ave. in 2010, relocating to 1203 Duval Street in 2014. The gallery – or, self descried “art house”- has quickly become a dynamic creative space in Old Town.

Adam Russell is a South Florida based Artist and Arts Advocate working in a variety of media to describe an artistic thesis rooted in the discovery of contemporary culture through access to its many historical influences.  Educated in fine arts at the Columbus College of Art and Design and Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Adam has served on the board of Sculpture Key West and the City of Key West Art in Public Places and was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of Directors of the Key West Art and Historical Society.
