The Studios of Key West Launches New Catalog on Thursday, November 5
Kick-Off Party held at The Studios’ of Key West during First Thursdays

The Studios of Key West launches their first full season on Eaton Street with a Members’ Exhibition and season kick-off party during this month’s First Thursday gallery walk. The public is invited to pick up a catalog and toast the new season at 533 Eaton Eaton Street November 5 from 6-8pm.
“The theme for the November show, ‘Classic Key West,’ was a really popular one, says Elena Devers, deputy director. “We received almost 100 works, from off-the-wall 3-D pieces inspired by personal histories to more traditional pieces embodying the colors and sights of the island. This year, we’re really excited to offer prizes from Tucker’s Provisions for the works that best fit the theme.”
Also opening Thursday night is an installation for former Artist-in-Residence Laurencia Strauss, who returns to exhibit her photography and video work. From images of words “written in GPS” on White Street Pier with her bike, to absurd responses to rising sea levels (build a Key West-sized raft!), Strauss’s work challenges viewers to consider their environment. Strauss’ show is on view in The Alcove at 533 Eaton.
Both exhibitions remain on view through November 25.
