Sheriff Donates Car for Upper Keys Homeless Outreach
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has donated a Ford Crown Victoria to the Florida Keys Outreach Coalition (FKOC) to be used for homeless outreach in the Upper Keys.  Fr. Stephen Braddock, FKOC’s President & CEO recently announced that FKOC is establishing an office in Tavernier and anticipatesproviding homeless prevention services in the Upper Keys beginning by early November.
“Homeless issues in the Upper Keys are very different than those challenging Key West”, Braddock said.  “We want to help keep it that way by providing new and expanded services to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless in the first place.”
FKOC has also been meeting with community partners and stakeholders for months and will soon conduct a comprehensive needs assessment in the Upper Keys.  “I believe our focus needs to be on keeping people housed by providing rental and utility assistance, birth certificates and other ID’s, familyreunification, and assistance with basic human needs”, Braddock explained.  “Two full-time and one part-time FKOC team member will be assigned to the Upper Keys”.

“I really support the mission of the Florida Keys Outreach Coalition and I’m pleased they are expanding their presence and services up the Keys”, the Sheriff said.  “They do great work
