ESTEVEZ NAMED OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE OF THE FIRST QUARTER

KEY WEST – Manny Estevez has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter for 2015.

Estevez has worked for the Utility for five years and currently serves as a Journeyman Lineman in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) department. In his current position he is responsible for power line construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting. He stated that his favorite thing about KEYS is, “being able to restore power to people.” He added that, “every day in the T&D department presents a new challenge and the people I work with are not only my friends, but my family.”

Estevez was born and raised in Key West and is a graduate of Key West High School. He lives in the Lower Florida Keys with his wife Krystel, with whom he has a child. In his spare time Estevez enjoys watching sports, boating, and spending time with his family.

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance.

The Utility Board will recognize Estevez as the Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter during their regular meeting on Wednesday, January 28th. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that will hang in the William Arnold Service Building, he will receive a $250 bonus, and an extra vacation day.
