10th Annual Monroe County Red Mass – March 9, 2018 – 12 noon The Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea
On Friday, March 9, 2018, the Most Reverend Thomas G. Wenski, Archbishop of  Miami, will celebrate the 10th Annual Monroe County Mass at 12:00 noon at the Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea in Key West. Due to the ongoing renovation of the Convent/Renewal Center, a reception following the Mass will not be possible this year.

The Red Mass is celebrated to recognize the noble and valuable work performed by the Judiciary and members of the Bar and all who assist them.  It is a tradition in the Catholic Church which dates from the 13th Century.  The tradition of the Red Mass has continued in the United States. In Washington, D.C., the members of the United States Supreme Court join the President and members of Congress in the celebration at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.  The Red Mass is now celebrated in most state capitals and major cities throughout the United States. This is the eighth Red Mass held in Monroe County.

All people of good will are invited to join us on March 9th as we celebrate the contributions of the legal profession to our community.
