(Key West, Fla—) Zonta Club of Key West launched 16 Days of Activism (November 25-December 10) by tying orange ribbons around trees along N. Roosevelt Blvd in Key West. “UNITE! Activism to End Violence against Women & Girls,” is this year’s theme for International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 25. This anti-violence campaign, also known as “Zonta Says No,” is supported by Zonta Club of Key West, the United Nations, Zonta International, and other organizations. Residents and visitors are encouraged to support the work by wearing orange during the 16 days and help end violence against women and eliminate the detrimental consequences it has on the well-being of our community. The color orange is used to represent a brighter future, free from violence against women and Girls.
On November 15, the City of Key West Commission presented a proclamation to Zonta Club of Key West in recognition of 16 Days of Activism, permitting the display of the orange ribbons along North Roosevelt until December 10.
