Women’s March Florida Keys Chapter to join with State and National organizations in A Day of Action for Syria on Thursday, April 13th, 2017
Key West, FL- The Florida Keys area of Women’s March Florida, the women who inspired the organizing of thousands in attendance at 18 Florida sister marches and who sent over 27,000 people from Florida to Washington, D.C. for the most-attended march on Washington in history, will be holding A Day of Action for Syria on Thursday, April 13.
We mourn for and with the people of Syria. We are outraged that the President and his cabinet are banning the very refugees that are escaping the same terrorism we are claiming to fight. We demand that this administration increase the number of Syrian refugees we let into the United States. We know they have endured extreme vetting and are eager to find safety and security.
Three ways to participate:
-
Attend a vigil near you (bring candles and signs)
-
Educate yourself about the conflict.
-
Donate to an organization supporting Syrian refugees.
The Women’s March Florida Keys Chapter calls on all residents and visitors to join us for our local candlelight vigil on Thursday, April 13, at 6pm at Bayview Park.
