Woman arrested in mail room theft

A 41-year-old Islamorada woman was arrested Tuesday for stealing a package in an Upper Keys mail room on March 29.

Christi Annette Gardner was charged with theft.

Gardner was seen on security cameras stealing a package from the mail room of Summer Sea Condominiums, 88500 Overseas Highway, on March. 29 shortly before 5 p.m. The package contained about $110 in beauty products. The Sheriff’s Office shared still images from the security footage on social media and with the media.

Detective Amanda Coleman interviewed Gardner on May 3. Gardner admitted to taking the package. Warrants were issued for her arrest

She was booked into jail on Tuesday.
