Wesley House Family Services host an Heirloom Art Auction on Sunday, December 8th

Wesley House Family Services will host an Heirloom Art Auction on Sunday, December 8th at the Hemingway Rum Company located at 201 Simonton Street. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception featuring appetizers by the Iron Chefs, and signature rum drinks by the Hemingway Rum Company.

The auction is made possible thanks to a gift of artworks from the estate of Judge Tegan Slaton and his widow Rosemary Enright, who served on the Wesley House Board for many years. As a team, they gave an enormous amount of their time and talents to protect children in our community.

Both Rosemary and Tegan were avid collectors of art. Tegan’s mother Mae was a school art teacher and master potter. Much of the pottery to be auctioned is from her collection, and it’s likely that she created many of the pieces herself.

The auction will include almost 50 pieces of both pottery and hand-selected framed art.

Wesley House Family Services would like to thank Vivian Segal for her help in executing the donation of art from Tegan’s and Rosemary’s collection.

Funds raised from the 2019 Heirloom Art Auction will benefit the Inez Martin Child Development Center.
