WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE TAKES AUDIENCES ON AN AMAZING RACE
The Award Winning Waterfront Playhouse, now celebrating it’s 80th Anniversary, will present the hilarious comedy Around the World in 80 Days. This adaptation of the Jules Verne classic is by Mark Brown and will play at the Waterfront beginning December 12 through 28. Discounted previews are on December 10 and 11. Performances include special performances at 8pm on December 24 and 25! Perfect for the entire family, Around the World in 80 Days is billed as the “original amazing race!”. Filled with stampeding elephants, raging typhoons, runaway trains, this cast of 6 will go places you’ve only imagined!
It will be directed by John McDonald, who recently directed The Informer as well as playing Dr. Scott in The Rocky Horror Show and feature Nate Washburn, as Phileas Fogg. Washburn has appeared in These Seven Sicknesses, Sarah Flood in Salem Mass, and American Song (The Flea Theatre), White Guy on the Bus (Passage Theatre), One Slight Hitch (Florida Rep), Wait Until Dark, and Henry V (Arkansas Rep), The Odyssey Experience (The McCarter Theatre), Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily (Cortland Rep). TV & Film: Don’t Let the Night End (SoHo Film Fest, Amazon), The Cars that Made America (History), I Love You…But I Lied (LMN), Brainchild (Netflix), as well as several commercials.
Ross Pipkin, who last appeared at the Waterfront in Red Speedo will play Detective Fix and newcomer Aaron Duclos, Erin McKenna, Steve Miller, Don Bartolone will play a multitude of characters.
Michael Boyer will design the set with Kim Hanson as lighting designer, Leigh Hooten costume designer and Trish Manley as stage manager.
