VOTING FESTIVAL
November 3—Key Largo
We are all familiar with the big parties that occur after elections, but big parties before elections – parties for voters? That’s a novel idea. The Upper Keys League of Women Voters wants to celebrate voting, so we’re throwing a Party at the Polls Voting Festival. It makes sense to be joyous that we live in a free country and have a voice in our democracy.
The League has joined with other nonpartisan organizations though the #VoteTogether initiative to increase voter participation by making voting fun and celebratory. Grab your neighbors, friends, and family and join us in a celebration of civic engagement and the act of voting. Let’s generate a positive shared experience around voting. We have the power to decide the direction of our communities and our country when we show up – and vote.
Come and join us at Peace Park located behind the Murray Nelson Government Center in Key Largo for the Party at the Polls Voting Festival on Saturday, November 3, from 11 am – 5 pm. There will be free food, live music, children’s activities, and a bounce house. It doesn’t matter if you’re red or if you’re blue, there will be free food and fun for everyone.
If you haven’t voted by then you can take advantage of the last day of early voting at the Government Center. If you’ve voted already, come and join us anyway! If you are planning on voting November 6, we have nonpartisan voting information on candidates and amendments that can help you make voting decisions. Lastly, we will show you how and why you may want to get involved with the Upper Keys League of Women Voters.
Hope to see you there!
