Virtual Canal Restoration Workplan Public Meetings Feb. 24 & March 24
MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County will be hosting two virtual canal restoration workplan public meetings on Feb. 24 and March 24 via Zoom webinar.
Monroe County has implemented a Canal Restoration Improvement Work Program. The purpose of the restoration program is to improve water quality in residential canals, reduce impacts on nearshore waters and increase environmental awareness. The purpose of the public meetings will be to provide an update on the program’s progress, proposed solutions, and next steps. The outreach services are funded through a grant from the federal Environmental Protection Agency.
Two or more members of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners may be in attendance at these virtual meetings and may participate in discussions. Any ideas discussed during these virtual meetings may be brought to the Board of County Commissioners during a regular meeting for further discussion and approval.
