Vintners Dinner/Taste Of Key West 2017, to benefit AIDS Help
That’s how the 22nd Annual ‘Taste of Key West’ will roll onto its new site, Mallory Square, on Monday, April 24th, from 6 to 9 p.m.
A benefit for AIDS Help, the 3-hour, open-air event promises a bounty of beverage and palate-pleasing plates at the famous “Home of the Key West Sunset”.
Accordingly, many of the Mallory Square Sunset Artisans are going to be featured alongside the Margaritaville Resort & Marina.
‘Taste of Key West 2017’ gates open at 6 p.m. for FREE general admission. Foodies can stroll edibles and drinkables, including seafood, tropical and Caribbean flavors, European delicacies, vegetarian dishes and more and buy tickets based upon what looks best!
Advance food and beverage ticket packages are available for purchase at www.keystix.com.
Every fork lifted, every plate cleared, is due to the generosity of donating food service owners and managers, AIDS Help Executive Director Scott Pridgen notes.
“Participating restaurants give us their time, staffs and product…chefs create gourmet bites of Keys cuisine influenced by the island’s seafaring heritage, subtropical climate and multicultural atmosphere.…vintages from 100 wineries and vineyards are provided by Republic National Distributing Company, with a larger beer selection than ever,” Pridgen says.
One special feature this year will be a collectible beer pint glass etched with both the ‘Taste of Key West’ logo and the logo for The SMART Ride. Sales will benefit the production of the Southernmost HIV/AIDS Ride, which annually awards money to Florida Agencies serving those living with HIV/AIDS.
Biking or walking is strongly suggested…for both convenience and to work off those calories!
The night prior, on Sunday April 23rd, the Vintners Dinner at Casa Marina, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, 1500 Reynolds Street, from 6 pm – 10 pm, will uncork a different kind of “passport to the palate,” Pridgen notes.
“The landscape of taste has changed. What was once considered exotic can be found in any supermarket produce aisle. So we especially challenge our participating Chefs to make a dining impact on Keys foodies.”
Participating chefs in the 9-course dinner include Zach Brinker, Jose Gomez, David Fuhrman, Henry Christian, Alex Beaumont, John Correa, Martha Hubbard, Scott Maurer and Richard Tallmadge.
In the Flagler Ballroom there will be of course, flowing grape, too. Wine representatives and winemakers from some of the top wineries and vineyards will be on-hand to pour and discuss their best labels in-depth.
Tickets are on sale NOW by accessing http://ahi.ticketleap.com/vintners-dinner-2017/
“It’s 48 hours of appreciating good food and wine while spending time with friends old and new,” Pridgen explains. “Great food and drink…smiles, suntans, strollers…plus that waterfront view…it defines ‘Taste of Key West’ in every way.”
