UWFK Announces Additional $130,000 in Hurricane Relief Grants
United Way of the Florida Keys is proud to announce another round of hurricane relief funding. A total of $130,000 was recently granted to 16 local, non-profit agencies to assist with continued hurricane recovery and rebuilding.
UWFK has raised and allocated over $1 million in aid for hurricane recovery efforts throughout Monroe County. Donations for this fund have come from around the world, as supporters know they are donating to an organization invested in the local community already working with vetted community partners.
Including this current round of funding, UWFK has provided over $600,000 for recovery work here in the Keys to 31 local agencies since Hurricane Irma, as well as begun a direct case management program assisting families Keys-wide. The UWFK Board of Directors has earmarked additional funds to assist with mid- to long-term recovery efforts including expanding “safety net” funding during the traditional Community Investment allocation process. Applications for the Community Investment funding cycle will be available at KeysUnitedWay.org in mid-January.
I have attached the complete press release, in .pdf and .docx format. Included in the release are 2 photos with quotes. Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.
