US Navy /USS Billings Commissioning

The U.S. Navy has recently announced that the city of Key West has been
chosen to be the Host City for the commissioning of USS Billings (LCS 15) on
the morning of Aug. 3, 2019. Billings is a Freedom-class littoral combat
ship, and is the first ship in naval service named after Billings, Montana.
The ceremony, which signifies that the boat and crew are ready for active
duty and the defense of our nation, will be conducted at Naval Air Station
Key West’s Truman Harbor by the U.S. Navy. The 378-ft. ship has a crew of
approximately 75, however the crews are alternating and usually carry about
50 crew members on a mission.
