United Way of the Florida Keys Announces 2018-2019 Funding Cycle
FLORIDA KEYS – United Way of the Florida Keys is pleased to announce the impending release of their 2018-2019 application for funding. Grant applications will be available online from January 17th to March 9th on UWFK’s website at: http://www.keysunitedway.org/apply-united-way-funding.
Our funding supports programs that meet a critical need for working families in Monroe County by providing services in one of our community impact areas:
- Access to nutritious food for people in critical need
- School-aged, early childhood, or after-care support with an educational or positive behavioral component
- Safety net services providing referral and emergency assistance to residents of Monroe County
Recognizing the community’s long-term recovery from Hurricane Irma, the UWFK board has allocated additional funds for this grant cycle. This will allow us to support partner organizations and the families they serve as the community moves forward with rebuilding.
In addition to the limitations on eligibility based on our community impact areas, funding will only be considered for nonprofit organizations recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization; organizations that operate in accordance with a written non-discrimination policy; organizations that show appropriate spending on delivery of services; and those that have completed the application in its entirety. Additional considerations, restrictions, and requirements are available in detail on our website under “Guidelines for 2018-2019 Funding.”
UWFK will be hosting two community meetings for new applicants, previous partners with questions and any member of the public interested in more information about the community investment process. The first meeting will be on January 29 from 10-11am at the Gato Building conference room in Key West (1100 Simonton St). The second meeting will be on January 30 from 10-11am at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority training room in Marathon (2798 Overseas Hwy, off 33rd St Bayside).
Funding for partnership and in support of nonprofits in the Florida Keys come form donations accepted year-round. If you would like to make a donation, you can access our online giving portal by clicking the “Donate” button at http://www.keysunitedway.org. Thank you for helping us be the leader in community caring!
