UF-IFAS Extension Hosting Florida Friendly Landscaping Trainings

The Monroe County UF-IFAS Extension Service is hosting three programs on Florida Friendly Landscaping in the Keys. The guiding principles of a Florida Friendly landscape include using proper plants and planting practices, reducing water use, utilizing proper fertilization, using mulch, creating a diversified landscape to attract wildlife, managing pests responsibly, recycling yard waste, reducing storm water runoff, and protecting waterways from pollution. By following these practices, you can have your yard recognized as Florida Friendly.

If you would like to learn more about these practices, how to use them in your landscape, or how to get your landscape recognized, please join us!
