Two jail inmates charged in intimidation case

 

Two Stock Island jail inmates are facing more criminal charges Friday after beating up another inmate.

 

The victim in the case did not suffer life threatening injuries, but bruises and cuts. The victim did not immediately report the incident.

 

The victim has since been released from the jail.

 

Nathan Cole Borrego, 18, of Stock Island, already in jail on charges of armed robbery stemming from a 2017 case, was further charged with robbery without a weapon, colluding to tamper or harass a witness, tampering with or harassing a witness and retaliation against an informant/victim/witness.

 

Juan Antonio Montero, 25, of Key West, in jail on drug charges, now faces additional two charges of battery by a person in jail, colluding to tamper or harass a witness, tampering with or harassing a witness and retaliation against an informant/victim/witness.

 

Detective Boyd Williams was immediately assigned to investigate.

 

More arrests and charges are expected in the ongoing case.
