Two gunmen sought in fatal shooting
Major Crimes Unit Detectives are looking for two suspect gunmen in a double shooting on Stock Island Monday afternoon that left one man dead at the scene and another in critical condition at a Miami hospital.
Detectives ask that anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
The decedent found at the scene at 5515 5th Avenue has been identified as 45-year-old Jose Manuel Clemente of Stock Island.
The other victim was identified as Iliecer Noa, 43, also of Stock Island.
Noa remained in critical condition Tuesday at Jackson South Medical Center.
According to witnesses, the two suspects arrived on a black scooter to a shack in the lobster and stone crab trap yards near an area known locally as “La Curva” where the victims were located. An argument ensued over a motor vehicle. Witnesses stated both suspects brandished handguns, which resulted in both victims being shot.
Deputies and Detectives were called to the scene at approximately 4:50 p.m.
Clemente was pronounced dead at the scene.
Noa was first taken to Lower Keys Medical Center and then airlifted via Trauma Star to Miami.
No weapons were found at the scene.
The two suspects were described as Hispanic men who appeared to be 25- to 30-years-old riding a black scooter/moped.
