Two Face Felony Charges After Fight

Police were called around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27th for a reported robbery at Shooterz Lounge on Flagler Ave. When the officers arrived, the suspects had left the scene.

The owner of the bar and other witnesses reported seeing three men place beer bottles under the victim’s car tires. The group began arguing and one of the suspects broke off a windshield wiper. Things escalated quickly, and the witnesses reported that William Mosblech walked up to the victim and punched him several times in the face.  Brandon Kocis allegedly jumped in, attempting to choke the victim with his neck chain, which eventually came off the victim’s neck.

The two suspects, along with a third man then fled the scene with the jewelry.

Detectives were able to identify the two men and arrested them Friday. Both were Key West firefighters.

Kocis, 33, faces felony counts of robbery with a weapon, aggravated battery and grand theft. He also faces a criminal mischief misdemeanor charge. Mosblech, 25, faced the same three felony charges.

Mosblech resigned his position. Kocis was placed on administrative leave until his predetermination hearing.
