Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant to test siren

The Sheriff’s Office has been informed there will be a regularly scheduled test of the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant’s warning sirens at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4.

The test will be approximately 20 minutes from start to finish.

The test is a required part of the emergency management alert and notification program.

In the event of a real incident, information and protective action (if necessary) would be communicated via local and social media outlets.

Please help us spread the word the Friday test is only a test.
