Two Key West men were arrested over the weekend after a traffic stop yielded a work van containing drugs and a stolen gun.

The van was stopped early Sunday morning on Flagler Avenue for having defective equipment. Both men inside were found to have suspended driver’s licenses. After the department’s K9 Unit alerted to the vehicle, a search of the vehicle turned up 16 grams of powder cocaine, almost 3 grams of crack cocaine several grams of individually packaged marijuana bags and other paraphernalia associated with the sale of the drugs. In addition, officers found a stolen handgun in the van. The van was registered to the driver, Jimmy Gonzales.

Gonzales, 55, was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, and possession of paraphernalia.
