Three Injured, One Critical in Four Car Crash

June 29, 2016: A four-vehicle crash last night on North Roosevelt Blvd. injured three people, one critically. At a little after 9 p.m. a vehicle with three occupants was waiting to make a left turn into McDonald’s. The car was struck from the rear and pushed into the oncoming traffic. Two other vehicles, headed outbound, crashed into the melee.

The victims of the rear-ended vehicle – two females and one male – are visiting from Virginia. All three were transported to Lower Keys Medical Center. One woman was released and the other was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center with severe head injuries, where she remains in critical condition. The male victim remains at Lowers Keys Medical Center.

There were three local men in the car that hit the vehicle from Virginia. They were treated at the hospital and released. The three occupants of the third vehicle in the crash — two females and one male – were treated at the scene and released. Both occupants of the fourth vehicle – a male and a female – were also treated at the scene and release.

North Roosevelt Blvd. was closed for several hours after the crash. Key West Police are continuing to investigate. The names and ages of the people involved are not yet available.
