The Monroe County Democratic Executive Committee unanimously passed a resolution in response to the Supreme Court’s intentions to overturn Roe V. Wade

Key West, FL – On May 7, 2022 the Monroe County Democratic Executive Committee voted unanimously in favor of a resolution put forward by State Committeeman Dakin Weekley, urging the Senate to end the filibuster and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act. 

Last week it was revealed that the Supreme Court intends to overturn Roe V. Wade which grants women the right to abortions. The Women’s Health Protection Act, among other things, federally codifies abortion rights protecting them from the Supreme Court’s ruling. The House version of the bill passed last September.
