The Award-winning Waterfront Playhouse on Mallory Square officially opens their 85th Anniversary season with the award winning musical comedy LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.
Following a preview on Wednesday November 29, the show will officially open on Thursday November 30 with an after party in the garden following the show. Performances will continue Tuesday through Saturday at 8pm through December 16 with a matinee performance at 2pm December 9. Sponsored by Saltwater Realty and directed and staged by Tom Thayer, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is the man-eating, award-winning musical, currently in its 5th year off-broadway! With music by Alan Menken and lyrics and a book by Howard Ashman the story follows a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is loosely based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors.
Jordan Thomas Burnett returns to the Waterfront Playhouse as Seymour. Previous credits include Tully Mars (Escape to Margaritaville), Nick Bottom (Something Rotten), Sky (Mamma Mia), Mordred (Camelot), Charlie Price us/performed (Kinky Boots) and Lucas Beineke (The Addams Family). He has also appeared at the MGM Beau Rivage as a lead vocalist in Rand Production’s original show (Finding Christmas) and a lead vocalist on the Norwegian Spirit in original productions (Blazing Boots, Broadway Cabaret, Elements and World Beat) while traveling to Alaska, Australia, French Polynesia, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Vancouver. Talitha McDougall Jones returns as Audrey. Last season audiences saw her in Rock of Ages and Kinky Boots. Regional Credits: Big Fish (Sandra Bloom), Carousel (Nettie Fowler), When Calls the Heart: the Musical (Elizabeth Thatcher), Beauty and the Beast (Babette/u.s. Belle), and Annie (Theatre Aspen). Key West favorite Bruce Moore is Dr. Orin Scrivello D.D.S! Bruce starred as Shakespeare in the musical comedy Something Rotten! Mathias Maloff, recently seen in The Rocky Horror Show plays Mushnik, Jack D’Emilio plays the derelict and a host of other characters while Mariah Woesnner, Damaria Quick and Ervin Tumm play the urchins. Audrey II is voiced by Richard Quint with Zachary Franchini bring her to life. Together they bring mouthwatering life to a show that has made millions of theatergoers laugh, scream, and give up gardening for good.
