The American Red Cross Invites Media to Tour Family Assistance Center in Parkland
PARKLAND, Fla., February 18, 2018 – On Monday, Feb. 19, from 8 to 8:30 a.m., the American Red Cross is inviting members of the media to tour the Family Assistance Center (FAC) and interview participating agencies on the services being provided to the community. The Red Cross, in partnership with the Broward County Public Schools and other federal, state, local and community agencies, opened the FAC to address the immediate needs and provide information, support and resources to those directly affected by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy.
The Family Assistance Center offers an expanded scope of services to meet the immediate and short-term needs of the family members and others directly impacted by this tragedy.
Services available include:
- Counseling/Spiritual Care
- Crime Victim Services and Victim Compensation
- Drivers Licenses and Identification Documents
- Health Care Assistance
- Language Translation
- Travel Assistance
