Teen arrested for threatening teacher

A 13-year-old girl was arrested Thursday after she threatened to shoot a teacher at Marathon Middle/High School.

The girl was charged with interfering with school functions.

Marathon Middle/High School Resource Officer Timothy Tedesco was approached by a teacher at 9:30 a.m. who wished to report the incident. The teacher stated she asked to the girl to move her seat and the girl responded that she was, “Gonna get a gun a bust a cap in her a–.”

The student was removed from class and her bags were searched. No weapons were found.

Detectives went to the girl’s place of residence and they did not find any weapons.

Normal school operations were not impacted by the incident.

The girl was turned over to the custody The Department of Juvenile Justice and later released to her parents after she was given a court date.
