Tampa man dies after diving

A 57 year old man from Tampa died today after scuba diving at Davis Reef offshore of Islamorada.

Lloyd Beale surfaced from a dive at about 10 a.m. and began to climb out of the water onto a dive vessel owned by Conch Republic Divers out of Tavernier Creek Marina. As he climbed on board, he collapsed. He was pulled onto the boat and CPR was performed as he was brought to shore. The boat was met on shore by paramedics who transported Beale to Mariner’s Hospital where he was deceased.

Major Crimes Detective Dawn Augusto was assigned as investigator on the case. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of his death.
