Sylvia Murphy Named Mayor Emeritus & Good Will Ambassador for the Florida Keys

KEY LARGO, FL – On Wednesday, the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution acknowledging the 14 years of service retired County Commissioner Sylvia Murphy provided to the citizens of Monroe County. The resolution proclaims Murphy as Mayor Emeritus and Goodwill Ambassador for the Florida Keys. In her voluntary and symbolic position, she can award the coveted honorary Conch Certificates to those she deems deserving of such an honor. Murphy served as the District 5 commissioner from 2006 until her retirement in 2020.
