Sunrise Rotary Club donates to Wesley House Family Services Healthy Families Monroe

Warren Leamard, President of Key West Sunrise Rotary Club presents Wesley House CEO Aleida Jacobo with a generous donation of $3,000 for our Healthy Families Monroe food program.  Healthy Families Monroe is a free, voluntary program for at-risk families in the Florida Keys. The program helps families achieve parental success by teaching them strength-based parenting skills and promoting positive parent/child interactions. The program encourages child health and development, and helps ensure that the medical and social needs of the families are being met.  Currently there are 55 families and 109 children who are part of the program throughout the Keys.  In Key West alone 30 families and 51 children are experiencing food insecurity. These families, many of whom are in the service industry, are being forced to make the difficult decision between paying their rent, childcare or feeding their families.  With the help of generous community partners like the Sunrise Rotarians,  Wesley House has instituted a food and rental assistance program for these families. We are so grateful for the support of the Key West Sunrise Rotary Club in the Conch Republic!
