Stock Island Intersection at 2nd St & 2nd Ave to be a New 4-Way Stop Starting Tuesday

STOCK ISLAND, FL – In the best interest of public safety, on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at approximately 11 a.m., the intersection of 2^nd Street and 2^nd Avenue on Stock Island will be a new 4-way stop. The intersection is currently a 2-way stop when traveling east and west on 2^nd Avenue. An additional 2-way stop traveling north and south on 2^nd Street will be a permanent installation creating the 4-way stop at the intersection. The Board of County Commissioners approved the signage enhancement after seeing the result of a traffic study that determined a 4-way stop is needed due to insufficient sight distance.
