Statement By Speaker Richard Corcoran on The Appointment of Former Senate President Don Gaetz To Triumph Board
Tallahassee, FL – Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, Richard Corcoran, released the following statement upon his appointment of former Senate President Don Gaetz to the Triumph Board.
“The House of Representatives ensured that BP settlement money would remain in the Panhandle. The Select Committee on Triumph/Gulf Coast, led by Representative Jay Trumbull, insisted that settlement money be used to assist all the residents of the Panhandle directly impacted by the disaster. That is why I am thrilled to announce the appointment of former Senate President Don Gaetz to the Triumph board. President Gaetz has dedicated his life to public service and to the people, places, and prosperity of the Panhandle. I can think of no one better suited to ensure fair and equitable distribution of the settlement funds. A leader of integrity and courage, his willingness to continue serving the people of the Panhandle is a testament to the love he has for his community and his commitment to public service.”
