Spring Online Silent Auction to Support May Sands Montessori School April 9-19, 2021 

KEY WEST, FL – May Sands Montessori School is holding a Spring Online Silent Action to raise funds to support its tuition-free Montessori education program. The silent auction contains over 20 fabulous prizes including Mile 0 Fest passes, 2 Night Stay at the Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa, gift certificates to Key West Restaurants & Attractions, Local Art, and much, much more. Online bidding will be open from Friday, April 9th through Monday, April 19th at Maysandsmontessori.com/silent-auction.

Located in the heart of Key West, May Sands Montessori School serves students in grades VPK- 8th. As a Monroe County public charter school, May Sands Montessori School has been providing tuition-free, high quality Montessori education to residents of the lower keys for almost 25 years. The Montessori method involves multi-grade classrooms and a rich, extensive curriculum implemented with hands-on materials and cross-discipline learning. Because of the child-centered, resource intensive nature of their programming, funding received from the Monroe County School District covers only approximately 80% of the school’s annual budget, necessitating additional fundraising. “Fundraising this year has been challenging” said Christina Joy, School Development Director, “The restrictions placed on large public events due to the Covid-19 pandemic have curtailed our usual fundraising efforts. We had to cancel our 5k, the Spring Fair & our annual gala in favor of smaller events like our new monthly Paint & Sip series. This is the first time we are trying an online fundraiser and we hope to get a good response from the community.”
