Special Guest Speakers for April America’s Boating Classes

The Key West Sail and Power Squadron offers the “America’s Boating Course” at the Key West Sail and Power Squadron. 5205 College Road, Stock Island The 1 1/2 day course will be held Saturday, April 6th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 7th from 8:00 a.m. to noon. This class will have 2 special guest speakers. One from FWC discussing safe boating in Florida especially in Key West. The other speaker will be from the National Marine Sanctuary and NOAA reviewing boating in the Sanctuary.

Completing the America’s Boating Course will give the individual their Florida State Boater’s ID card which is required for anyone who is born after January 1st, 1988 to operate a boat of 10 horse power or more. This course is not only for the young but for anyone over 35 since this is the highest risk age group for a boating accident. This is especially true here since Monroe Country leads the nation in boating accidents and fatalities.

The fee is $60.00 for one or $75.00 for two sharing materials.
