South Florida Red Cross Welcomes New Regional Chief Executive Officer, Krista Howell Coletti
Miami, Fla., November 16. 2023 – The South Florida Red Cross has named Krista Howell Coletti as its new Regional Chief Executive Officer.
As the Regional Executive for South Florida, Krista Coletti will oversee four chapters in the region serving nearly 8 million people across 13 counties and be accountable for service delivery and fundraising.
“As the new Regional Chief Executive Officer, I am honored to lead our dedicated team in advancing the Red Cross mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies,” said Krista Coletti. “Together, with the power of our volunteers and generosity of donors, we will continue to bring help and hope to South Floridians during times of their greatest need.”
Coletti has dedicated her career to making an impact in the nonprofit sector. With 25 years of service, Krista is a veteran nonprofit leader focused on building exceptional teams, sustainable growth and continuation of business core to mission delivery.
Since March 2020, Krista has served as the Chief Development Officer for the Greater New York Region of the American Red Cross, responsible for more than $25 million in revenue annually. Prior to this, Krista served as the Senior Director of Development for the Northeast Division, the Chief Development Officer for the Connecticut and Rhode Island Region, and the Interim Chief Development Officer for the Massachusetts Region.
In February 2018, the American Red Cross recognized Krista with The Presidential Award, which is presented at a national ceremony in Washington, DC, to employees and volunteers who demonstrate superior job performance.
Prior to the American Red Cross, Krista served as the Director of Advancement at Chase Collegiate School in Connecticut. In this position, Krista was responsible for the management and oversight of the fundraising, alumni relations and communications departments. During her tenure, Krista led the school through the successful completion of two capital campaigns securing over $30 million for capital projects and endowment for student scholarship. Krista also served as a Marketing Director for the American Diabetes Association and the Special Events & Public Relations Specialist for Foodshare.
Committed to supporting both her local and regional community, Krista is presently on the Board of Directors for Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, CT and the Highfield Club in Middlebury, CT. Past board commitments have included Riverside Cemetery and Family Services of Greater Waterbury. She is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH).
Krista holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Central Connecticut State University.
Krista and her husband, David, reside with their three children, Brooke, Caitlyn and Luke, in Watertown, Connecticut and look forward to relocating to South Florida. When she’s not working, Krista devotes time to her children, enjoying their favorite activities like tennis, basketball, football, and horseback riding. Krista and Dave also enjoy tennis and pickleball.
