Simonton Street from Southard south sports a fresh, smooth mill and pave.
Now that the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority has finished replacing infrastructure on the upper end of Simonton Street, the City has milled and paved the street. Motorists are enjoying the new smooth roadway from Southard south. The project also includes sidewalk improvements for ADA accessibility.
The FKAA is continuing its work on the lower end of Simonton, and the City will be following their work and paving the rest of the street as they finish up. The entire street is expected to be finished in December.
Much of downtown, including Duval Street, were milled and paved while the city was closed to tourists. Other areas, including several roads in need of repair in New Town, have also been repaved. Next up: Whitehead Street.
