Sheriff’s Office and Key West Police to disburse gift cards after receiving donation

Sheriff Rick Ramsay and Chief Sean Brandenburg were recently contacted by Mr. Zachary Bentley who wanted to donate $4,000 to each agency.

Mr. and Mrs. Bentley of Key West have been longtime law enforcement and community supporters.

The Bentley’s told the Sheriff and Chief that they wanted to show support for law enforcement and set an example of partnership for others.

The $8,000 was taken to Publix where 160, $50 gift cards were obtained.

The agencies will disperse the gift cards throughout the county as Officers come across those in need.

Sheriff Ramsay and Chief Brandenburg said that this kind and generous donation by the Bentley’s is exactly what this community is all about.

“This act and partnership is what makes this community one of the best places to live!” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “This donation will help hundreds of people during this holiday season.”
