School Board to hear presentation on analysis of state exam scores at June 13th meeting
WHO: School Board Members, Executive Leadership Team, the Public, GEMS Honoree, Dr. Kathy Lancaster
WHAT: The School Board plans to meet to discuss preliminary assessment results and the capital project timeline and budget. The board will also hear from Florida Keys Area Health Education Center CEO Michael Cunningham, who will present a health center proposal.
The district’s preliminary assessments results show some improvements in the district, as well as some areas that may need attention. Executive Director of Assessment and Accountability David Murphy said he will have more information to interpret this year’s result as the schools begin to take a look at their raw data also. “The first step is to dig into the data a little deeper and look for the performance of the groups that were specifically targeted in the school improvement process. Each school must analyze their own performance and evaluate if the processes that they put in place had the impact that they were intended to have.”
Action Items on the agenda include the approval of a job description for human resources specialist, approval of an interactive panels purchase, approval of an Instructional Materials purchase, and an approval of a student discipline case.
