Saunders Endorsed By Police
Ron Saunders has received the endorsement of the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) for his candidacy for Clerk of the Courts for Monroe County. “Ron Saunders had a great record on law enforcement issues when he served as our State Representative in Tallahassee. Our officers believe Ron’s experience as a state legislator and lawyer will help Ron be effective in working with us as our next Clerk,” stated PBA member Areaka Jewell, a Lieutenant with the Key West Police Department .
Saunders served for three years as Legal Counsel for the Monroe County Clerk’s Office where he was responsible for supervising over sixty employees in the Courts and Recording divisions in the Clerk’s offices in Key West, Marathon, and Plantation Key.
He previously represented the Florida Keys for 14 years in the Florida Legislature where he was selected twice as the most Effective Member of the 120 member Florida House of Representatives. “I am very pleased to receive the PBA’s endorsement and will use my legal and legislative experience to work well with our law enforcement community, “ Saunders stated.
