Sand Bags Available

In advance of possible localized flooding from Tropical Storm Idalia, the City of Key West is providing sand and bags to shore up homes or businesses located in low lying areas.

The sand is available at Boog Powell Court, and employees will be on hand to hand out bags. There will be shovels, as the sand is self-serve.

Please monitor the National Weather Service Key West for predictions of possible flooding. The weather service has warned that the storm, coupled with king tides and a full moon, could cause flooding in low lying areas.
