Rock Solomon Swings at First Flight’s Mystery Dinner
Join Key West’s retro-crooner & his Jazz-Age Retrospectacular event “Dial M” on May 14th at First Flight Restaurant & Brewery. “I love the pop music from the 1920s-1940s, but I have found that it looses something in todays presentation. So I came up with the “Jazz-Age Retrospectacular” as a way of enjoying the music like it would have been back then. We include everything vintage, from music, to clothing, to buildings, to cars, & even newspapers from the same era. My grandfather, a jazz-hall-of-fame inductee who performed with Billy Holiday always says, “people ‘see’ music” and that’s what I’ve come to know. If you want to understand jazz, it’s best to ‘see’ it in context of the vintage era it came from. The music just makes more sense. This Monday’s Dial “M” is a costumed mystery dinner party set in the 1930’s. Everyone can play their character to solve the whodunnit while enjoying music & stories of the day, dining on a 4 course gourmet meal, and even discovering true aviation history at the real-world birthplace of Pan Am. Tickets include a complimentary drink & bites, plus a four-course gourmet dinner, a retro-photo wall, interactive mystery theatre game & live music by Rock Solomon’s Jazz Cats. Be sure to dawn your best Gaztby-esque threads for a chance to win prizes in our best-dressed costume contest! Doors at 5:30, followed by game & cocktail hour, with Dinner at 7pm. Dinner tickets are $95 online, or $115 at the door at First Flight Restaurant, 301 Whitehead street. More info: www.Mixdeity.com 305-570-3000
