Road Construction Alert for Key West

Beginning Monday, August 1st, FDOT will begin the relocation of the mast arm at the triangle entrance to Key West.  As a result for up to two days the through lane from N Roosevelt to S Roosevelt Blvd will be closed and through traffic will be diverted to the right-hand left turn lane to Stock Island.  This lane closure will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The S Roosevelt traffic pattern will be unaffected.  This project may take up to one month; however, the lane closure will only take place August 1st-2nd, and once again at the end of the project when the mast arm is relocated.

Also, beginning Monday, August 1st, Michels Power, a subcontractor for KEYS Energy, will be upgrading utility poles.  For the next two weeks you will see their trucks in the following locations:

100 block of Simonton Street
300 block of Duval Street
300 block of William Street
800 block of Duval Street, and
500 block of Olivia Street

Simonton and Duval Street work will only involve a lane closure.  Work on William and Olivia will involve full street closure due to the narrowness of the streets.
A two week update will be provided as they upgrade poles within City limits.
