[livemarket market_name="KONK Life LiveMarket" limit=3 category=“” show_signup=0 show_more=0] In 2015 NBC-Telemundo campaigned for a one-day event in August where participating shelters nationwide would “Clear the Shelter” by offering reduced or free adoptions. Since then, the movement has gained popularity with its success in helping shelters of all sizes across the Country find homes for pets in need. The campaign has helped more than 400,000 shelter animals find homes since its inception. Now in its sixth year, the historically single day event has transformed into a month long adoption campaign.
Here at the Florida Keys SPCA, we are hosting this adoption event virtually through our Love Is Blind Adoption Program. Because both locations in Key West and Marathon are closed due to COVID-19, interested adopters should visit us online at www.fkspca.org/adopt. From there you can view all of our adoptable animals in Key West and Marathon. If you see a pet you’re interested in, click on the photo of the pet and fill out the adoption questionnaire. Once your application has been approved, an adoption counselor will contact you. Once a match is made, we will arrange a curbside pick-up for the big reveal of your new furbaby, all from the comfort of your own home. To encourage adoptions, all adoption fees are waived for the month of August.
Thanks to our incredible community, as a write to you today 41 animals have found their furrever families and have been adopted from our campuses! I find myself overwhelmed by joy for each of these animals and their adoptive families. For a shelter animal, their dream is to be loved and cared for by someone. When that someone chooses to adopt from a shelter, they are giving an animal the gift of being loved. We all want to be loved, and the love from a shelter animal is a love truly like no other.
Our Clear the Shelter’s campaign continues through the end of the month. Consider joining us as we Clear the Shelter with the hopes that every one of the 224 animals currently calling our shelter home, are adopted by someone like you. Learn more about our Clear the Shelter and Love is Blind Campaign by visiting us at www.fkspca.org/adopt and clicking on “adoption specials.” Or call our Marathon Campus at 305-743-4800 or 305-294-4857 in Key West. We have the perfect pet waiting for you.
