Renowned artist and instructor Lothar Speer to teach three-day figure drawing workshop in April

Key West, FL – The Key West Art Center and Gallery is excited to announce an upcoming three-day figure drawing workshop led by renowned artist and instructor Lothar Speer.

The workshop will take place from 5-7 pm on April 10, 11, and 12, 2023, at the Key West Art Center and Gallery located at 301 Front Street, Key West, Florida.

The fee is $185 and includes all three days.

Speer is an accomplished artist and educator who studied at Vienna’s National Academy of The Fine Arts and Philadelphia’s Pennsylvania Academy. He was recently awarded a public art commission for the lobby of the new Monroe County courthouse on Plantation Key, FL.

In the workshop, Speer will share the traditional approach to figuring drawing originally taught in the French Academy of 19th c Paris. He brings his classical knowledge to the art center in an atmosphere of learning, fun, and camaraderie. There will be a live model, which if you haven’t worked with before, is an invaluable learning opportunity, no matter your skill level as an artist.
