Shelby Scott is an Environmental Studies and Philosophy double major at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. As a Navy brat who has lived in various states and countries, she is passionate about raising awareness of the global, social, and medical dimensions of local environmental decisions. She is especially excited to teach children about how their actions and beliefs influence the reef (and world) they call home.
Kathryn Waters is going into her senior year at Michigan State University and is majoring in zoology with a concentration in marine biology. Kathryn has always been passionate about the ocean and marine biology but discovered her love for educating others on her study abroad to the Bahamas. She is very excited to be involved in the positive impact Reef Relief is having on the Florida Keys and to help educate the next generation of kids.
Jordan Brothers is a marine biology major and education minor at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. She was born and raised in Vermont but, was always drawn to the ocean and marine life on vacation. She heard about Reef Relief through an email from her advisor at Stetson and immediately applied for the Coral Camp internship position. Jordan is grateful to be given the opportunity to educate children on topics she is so passionate about and to spend time in such a beautiful and welcoming community.
Emily Mall graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Zoology and Public Policy. Visiting the Great Lakes growing up, Emily evolved a passion for the water and seeing her first dolphin, while visiting Key West, made her a salt water convert. Before coming to Reef Relief she interned at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois as their Conservation Policy and Advocacy intern, educating the public about plastic pollution and the effects of environmental pollution on marginalized communities. This summer she has been Reef Relief’s Community Engagement Intern and plans to continue through the fall for a hybrid internship in Water Quality and Community Engagement. After Reef Relief, she hopes to enter grad school to pursue marine conservation and environmental justice.
