REEF RELIEF ANNOUNCES NEW SPRING INTERNS

(Key West, FL) – February 14, 2022

Reef Relief is excited to announce our 2022 spring interns, Katrina Rosing as our part time remote Marketing and Media Intern and Jessica Warne as our part time Education Intern. They will be assisting with our social media, fundraising, campaigns, school visits, and spring break coral camp.

Katrina Rosing is a graduate of Wittenberg University and is currently a Master of Professional Science Student at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami, focusing on conservation. She has done previous research on Spotted turtles, Eastern box turtles, Kirtland snakes, Flamingo Tongue snails, and monitoring coral coverage.  As part of her Master of Professional Science project, Katrina is working with Reef Relief as their Marketing and Media Intern. She intends to focus on consistently engaging communities, increasing awareness, and creating environmental stewards along the way. Her long-term goal is to use her research results as a method of outreach, making complicated research topics more accessible and digestible to the public.

Jessica Warne is from Sag Harbor, New York. She will be helping Reef Relief as a part time Education Intern.  She currently attends the College of the Florida Keys in pursuit of her Associate of Science in Marine Environmental Technology. She intends to then earn her Bachelor of Science in Marine Resource Management from the college. After graduation she would like to lead marine conservation campaigns that involve working with ocean conservation nonprofits and government organizations. She is excited to have the opportunity to practice her presentation skills with marine science lesson topics and learn more about the roles environmental nonprofits play in enacting marine conservation legislation.
